How To Get That Mary Kay Glow

Kristen – Before
Today I concentrated on color and produced that Mary Kay glow.
My friend, Kristen, arrived wearing a tiny bit of foundation after washing her face with the Timewise Miracle Set. I taught her the color application using Mary Kay makeup brushes, and explained how each brush worked. Kristen applied the make up while I taught her, step by step.
What we did:
- She applied the Ivory 4 Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation, starting at her nose and moving out to her hairline. You want more of the product in the middle of your face, and not around the edges.
- She filled in her eyebrows with our Classic Blonde eyebrow pencil by making little short strokes and smudging them in with the eyebrow brush.
- She then applied the Eye Primer this creates a foundation to extend the eye color wear.
- She applied Moonstone Mineral Eye Color in the middle of her eyelid and blended it out to the sides of her eyelids.
- She applied Silver Satin Mineral Eye Color underneath her brow bone in the center and then blending it in towards her nose, and out towards her eyebrow.
- She then took a brush that did not have any color on it, and blended it towards her eyes. It is essential to blend the colors so there is no definition lines.
- Kristen then curled her lashes (this is KEY) starting in towards the base of her eyelashes and stepping it out with each crimp. This allows it to crimp more than one time and really opens up the eyes.
- She then put on one layer of the Lash Love Mascara (which adds definition to the lashes), on the top lashes.
- Smiling, she applied the Bold Berry Mineral Cheek Color into the apple of her cheeks and continued in circular motions out to her temples.
- Next she applied another coat of Ultimate Mascara in brown/black (which adds volume). She moved the wand back and forth and then up, to cover all of the eyelashes.
- Next she applied the True Dimension Tuscan Rose Lipstick.
- Using the Translucent Loose Powder, she applied it on the center of her forehead, down her nose, under her eyes and onto her chin, just to add a bit of contouring to her face, and to set her color applications.

I would make sure that everyone has the tools for the trade like the Mary Kay Brush Set.
It includes: Eye Crease Brush, Eyeliner/Eyebrow Brush, Eye Color Brush, Powder Brush, Cheek Brush. Comes in the Cosmetic Organizer Bag which had room for a compact, lip gloss, mascara and other makeup applications.
I would add the Mary Kay Smudger Brush
which is great for blending and diffusing smudge lines
and the Mary Kay Brush Cleaner
which is essential to wash all of the brushes after use, to keep them bacteria free.
I would add the Mary Kay Custom Compact
where the three eye colors and the cheek color can pop in and out magnetically. So it is easy to buy one and switch out your colors.
If Kristen wanted more of a dramatic look, we would have used an eyeliner and lip liner and contoured her face. We will do that next time.
